Body & Mind Together
The body holds an immense amount of information related to our emotions, memories and inner world. It is the vessel through which we experience life, our environment and connecting with others.
I am a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, meaning I have been trained
to use the body during the therapeutic process as a tool for accessing
& healing the mind. You may ask, "Why do I not list Dance/Movement Therapy
on my site?" The simple answer is that my relationship to movement and the
therapeutic process is undergoing a change. With my current undertaking of
iRest® Yoga Nidra training, I have begun to engage the body during sessions
with clients in a much more subtle way. I am still willing to incorporate movement and somatic practices into sessions, but may not do so automatically. These sort of interventions will most likely develop out of previous work done in session using verbal, somatic and meditative skills.
